I so happen to forget about these two changes that have also happened in the Tampa Bay market within the past year, but these two are very recent moves.
First off, with WFTS, they’ve reduced their noon news down to a half-hour again. This was done so it could air parent company Scripps’ national news network at 12:30 p.m. with Scripps News LIVE. Scripps is putting content from its national news network, Scripps News, on some of their stations through various dayparts; that is on top of their local newscasts and network newscasts as well.
Also, another ABC affiliate in the market, WWSB, has added yet another hour newscast to its weekday lineup at 10:00 a.m. ABC 7 News - Good Morning Suncoast at 10:00/10:30 a.m. replaced Rachael Ray from its schedule and is the ONLY local news at that time in the market. This perfectly complements their local lifestyle show, Suncoast View, which goes on at 9:00 a.m.
